Updated October 27, 2026 · Android version details · Platform details below
Your progress and words stay on your device. Published Android versions through 1.1.0 (5) and iOS 1.0 have no in-game ads, purchases or accounts. Android version 1.0.2 uses regional install measurement without a consent popup. Android 1.0.1 only measures after a saved Allow. iPhone, iPad and Android 1.0 collect no app data.
Android 1.2.0 monetization update
This update is being submitted for Google Play review. Until it becomes available, the published Android versions described above remain unchanged. Android 1.2.0 adds Firebase Analytics for first-party gameplay and ad-delivery measurement, and occasional non-personalised interstitial ads after a completed strand and a Next tap. The first session is ad-free. In later sessions, an ad requires at least ten completed strands counted through Next and at least 60 seconds after launch or resume. Later ads require five more completed strands and at least five minutes since the previous ad, with limits of ten per session and thirty per day. No purchase, account, energy or paid hint is added.
Firebase receives app-instance/install identifiers, app version and technical device information, gameplay event names and level numbers, active gameplay time, tutorial and collection milestones, ad opportunities and skip reasons, impressions and impression revenue. We do not send discovered words, search text, letter boards, names, email addresses or precise GPS location. Analytics advertising storage, advertising user data and personalisation are denied. Firebase Analytics event retention is two months and user-data retention is fourteen months, subject to Google's processing and applicable deletion controls.
Ads are arranged by Unity LevelPlay with Unity Ads and the built-in ironSource Ads bidder, with impression diagnostics from Unity Ad Quality. These providers may receive device and connection information, IP-derived approximate location, SDK/app identifiers, ad interactions, app usage times where enabled by the provider, estimated impression revenue and technical diagnostics. Android advertising ID availability depends on the installed build and system choice; iOS does not request tracking permission or access IDFA. Non-personalisation does not mean that an ad SDK collects no data.
Before the ad SDK starts, a first-party country request blocks ads in known EEA, UK and Swiss regions. If that request cannot decide, Google's User Messaging Platform is asked for a form-free regional answer. A known restricted answer blocks ads. If neither service can decide, the regional fallback policy can allow non-personalised ads, records that unknown-region decision separately, and retries. Tenjin install measurement continues to stay off when the country is unknown. Earlier install-measurement declines remain effective.
Report an unsuitable ad in Settings > Privacy > Report an ad; the email draft contains the last placement, ad source and available response identifier. It is sent only if you choose to send it. Contact hello@jfun.ai for privacy requests. Resetting progress or uninstalling removes local saves but does not automatically delete provider records. See Unity's privacy policy and Google's privacy policy for provider controls and retention.
Request deletion of measurement data
Email hello@jfun.ai with the subject “Strung data deletion”, your platform and app version. Do not send a password or sensitive information. We will explain any identifier needed to locate your records and help request deletion of associated installation/device identifiers, attribution, gameplay/ad activity and diagnostic records from the applicable providers. You can also use the deletion controls linked in Unity’s, Google’s and Tenjin’s privacy policies. We retain support correspondence for up to twelve months after resolution and any records required by law; provider processing or retention exceptions may apply. Deleting the app clears local saves but does not itself request provider deletion.
Who operates Strung?

Your game stays on your device
Strung saves progress, best results, gold beads, found words, your Extra jar, hints and settings locally. These gameplay saves are not sent to JFun, Tenjin or Google Ads. Gameplay works offline. Android may include your game saves in your own device backup, controlled by your Google account. Measurement consent, install identifiers and event queues are excluded from app backup and device transfer.
Android 1.0.2 regional install measurement
Before initializing Tenjin, Strung requests a country decision from a JFun HTTPS endpoint. This first-party connection exposes your IP address to Firebase Hosting for country selection; it sends no advertising identifier, install referrer, cookie, GPS or device identifier. The country decision is checked on each foreground arrival and is not inferred from your language, timezone or SIM.
Tenjin stays off in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland and listed EU territories, when your country is unknown, or when the country service cannot be reached or returns an invalid response. A previous Not now or other saved decline remains effective everywhere. In other known countries, acquisition measurement may start automatically without a popup.
When measurement runs, Tenjin receives your Android advertising ID when available, app install and launch/session information, referrer and campaign attribution information, app version, device and operating-system details, language and technical connection information. Requests expose your IP address, from which a country or approximate location may be inferred. Tenjin shares install attribution information with Google Ads for analytics and advertising measurement. Google ad personalization is disabled. We do not request precise GPS location or send your words, progress, name, email or purchase information.
Your choices and earlier versions
There is no measurement Settings control in Android 1.0.2. Android settings let you reset or delete your advertising ID; deleting it does not necessarily stop all technical measurement data. For access or deletion requests, contact hello@jfun.ai; do not include sensitive details in your initial email. Earlier saved declines continue to disable Tenjin. Android 1.0.1 remains opt-in, with its Settings > Privacy > Install measurement choice. iPhone, iPad and Android 1.0 collect no app data.
Recipients, security and retention
Measurement is processed by Tenjin and Google, including processing outside your country. SDK connections use HTTPS encryption in transit. Measurement records may be retained under these providers’ applicable service and retention settings. We use them only while needed for campaign reporting and applicable legal obligations, and respond to deletion requests where supported and legally required. We do not sell your game saves or send them to measurement providers.
iPhone, iPad and Android 1.0
These versions have no Tenjin, Firebase Analytics or crash-reporting SDK. They do not collect an advertising identifier or send app data to JFun. This Android update does not change the iPhone or iPad app’s data practices.
Information we do not access
Strung does not access your contacts, photos, camera, microphone or precise location. It has no chat, user accounts, personalized advertising or in-app purchases.
Support messages and this website
If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send. We use it to respond and normally retain support correspondence for up to 12 months after resolution, unless a legal obligation requires longer retention. These pages use Firebase Hosting, which processes IP addresses and technical connection information to deliver and secure the website. These Strung pages add no analytics scripts, advertising cookies or third-party fonts.
Children and changes
Strung is a general-audience puzzle game, not directed specifically at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided measurement data so we can investigate and request deletion. We may update this policy when features or data practices change; the revision date identifies the current policy.
