A little help
Strung support
Swipe down over beads that spell a word. If it fits, it slips off the string, the beads above slide down, and new words form at the join. Clear every bead to finish the strand.
Write to hello@jfun.ai. For a bug, include your device, the level number, and what happened. A screenshot helps; avoid sending personal information you don’t need to share.
How do I play?
Swipe down over beads that spell a word of three letters or more. If the word fits, it slips off the string. The beads above slide down and click onto the beads below, and new words form where they meet. The ghost slots show the length of each word still to find. Clear the whole strand to finish the level.
Why didn’t my word slip off?
A real word that would leave letters stranded stays on the string. It glows and goes into your Extra jar instead, so you never get stuck. “Already found” and “Not a word” mean just that; nothing is lost, and no swipe can lose a level.
How do hints work?
Every five extra words fill your Extra jar and earn one hint. Tap the bulb on the board to spend it: the beads of one real move light up. Hints are earned in play only; there is nothing to buy.
What is the gold bead?
Every strand has one gold bead. Clear the whole strand to keep it.
Where do the word meanings come from?
Tap a found word to see its meaning, or open Words on the home screen for every word you’ve found. Meanings come from Open English WordNet (CC BY 4.0). Most common meanings: WordNet 3.0, © 2006 Princeton University. Familiar words missing from that source have short definitions we wrote ourselves. In Android 1.2.0, obscure bonus-only words have been removed and every visible reachable word has a meaning; all 300 strands retain their clearing solutions. The list of accepted words is ENABLE (public domain). The dictionary is part of the app and works offline.
Can I play offline?
Yes. Strung never needs an internet connection: every strand, word list and meaning is in the app. You don’t need an account.
Where is my progress saved?
Progress, gold beads, found words, your Extra jar, hints and settings are stored on your device. Strung has no account or cloud sync between devices, and updating normally keeps your save. To replay the current strand, tap the gear and choose Retry. To start over completely: on iPhone or iPad, delete and reinstall the app; on Android, open Settings → Apps → Strung → Storage → Clear storage (Android may restore a backed-up save after a reinstall).
How do I turn off sound or motion?
Tap the gear on the home screen or during a strand. Sound and Motion are switches there; turning Motion off reduces animation.
Is Strung suitable for kids?
It is a calm word puzzle with no chat, no social features and no purchases. It is a general-audience game, not a service directed specifically at children under 13. Like most word-game dictionaries, the list of accepted words is broad, but Strung never shows slurs in its dictionary or Words book.
Privacy
Read the Strung privacy policy. Strung has no accounts or purchases. Published Android versions through 1.1.0 (5) have no in-game ads. The Android 1.2.0 update being submitted for review adds Firebase gameplay/ad measurement and occasional non-personalised ads between completed strands after the first session. See the privacy policy for provider details, regional restrictions and ad timing. To report an ad in that version, open Settings → Privacy → Report an ad; you choose whether to send the resulting email draft. Android 1.0.2 and later use regional Tenjin install measurement with no popup: off in the EEA, UK, Switzerland and unknown regions, and after a previous decline. Android 1.0.1 only measures after Allow. The iPhone, iPad and Android 1.0 apps collect no app data.
